Founded in the 1950’s by Harry Tennison, Charlie Stephens, Paul Leonard, Jr., and Mickey Schmid, the Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth is a long-standing, all volunteer, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that devotes its resources to outdoor and wildlife charitable and educational activities with an emphasis on serving area youth and youth organizations.
The Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which devotes its resources to outdoor and wildlife charitable and educational activities with an emphasis on serving area youth and youth organizations.
The Club relies exclusively on donations from private businesses and individuals and on the net proceeds from the Club’s annual fund-raising banquet. Although the Club does receive (and gladly accepts) cash donations, the majority of the donations that the Club receives are in the form of gifts that are sold at the Club’s fundraising banquet in a live or silent auction or raffled.
Click below to view and download our ‘Donor Form’. Last year the Club received approximately 200 of such donations ranging from hunting and fishing trips (locally and around the world), to meals, hunting and fishing accessories, dogs, sports memorabilia, etc.
Below is a listing of the many organizations that the Sportsmen’s Club supports.
Commencing in the year 2003, the Sportsmen’s Club of Fort Worth has awarded annual scholarships to deserving students in the name of Harry Tennison, one of the Club’s founders. Scholarships are to be used for one year of study at an accredited college or university located in the State of Texas. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership, academic achievement, strong character, financial need, and an interest in pursuing an education and career related to outdoor and/or wildlife management, conservation, research and/or education, all as determined by the Club’s scholarship selection committee.
Once completed and printed, the application must be sent to the Club no later than the end of May prior to the beginning of the school year for which the application is submitted. Send to:

The Club’s primary fund raising activity is our Annual Game Dinner, which includes a large father/child attendance consistent with the youth educational goals of the Club. At the dinner numerous donated hunting, fishing and other outdoor-related trips, together with hunting, fishing and outdoor equipment, are raffled off or sold by both silent and live auction.
